OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
Jesus
We believe that Jesus was crucified, died, and rose in resurrection to save us from sin and death. He is the head of our church. We are here to glorify and point to Him in all we do.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the word of God and is something to show us who God is and how to act in light of that fact.
Community
We believe we were put here for a reason. To help others know Jesus, to help others grow in their knowledge of God and how to act in this world due to that knowledge. We call it Sowing the gospel, growing in Christ, and going on mission. We also believe we are to work with other community leaders and members who may not believe as we do. Just because we don’t agree doesn’t mean we cannot work together.
God
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving, completely holy, and just.
Sin
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
Eternity
We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Reconciliation
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us to live a life for Him.
We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.
Baptism
We believe baptism is the outward communal expression of God’s work in our life. It is a covenant with others in the church that we are a new creation. It is not an act that saves us, however it is something that shows a large step of obedience in following Jesus.
The Church
We believe the church exists to point to Jesus and the mission given to us to make disciples. That means we believe we exist to tell people about Jesus, love our neighbors as ourselves regardless of our differences. That we are to work alongside each other with our gifts and talents as one body to better help each other grow as we follow Christ together in the communities in which we live.
